Context
The autonomous checkout technology requires a touchpoint to connect the shopper to the store. For a long time, Standard AI has been using passive NFC as the solution to be the checkin/checkout point in the shopping journey. Overtime, we realized NFC has come with several major issues, including low visibility and lack of meaningful feedback to the shopper.
As the next iteration of the checkout touchpoint, Standard AI devided to go with the QR code solution. Working along with the Standard Checkout App, the Kiosk interface with the shopper at the end of the shopping trip to guide and process the other half of the autonomous checkout experience.
